Requirements: macOS 11+ (Apple Silicon & Intel)
- Download the DMG file from the download section
- Open the downloaded DMG file and drag Sugar Banana to your Applications folder
- Launch Sugar Banana from your Applications folder or Spotlight
- If prompted about an unidentified developer, right-click the app and select "Open"
Windows
Requirements: Windows 10+
- Download the Installer file from the download section
- Run the installer and follow the prompts
- Launch Sugar Banana from your Start menu or desktop shortcut
2Getting Started
Create an Account
When you first launch Sugar Banana, you'll be prompted to create an account or sign in. This enables real-time collaboration and syncs your tasks across devices.
Create Your First Team
Teams are the top-level container for organizing your work. Create a team and invite collaborators using invite codes.
Set Up a Project
Within a team, create a project and link it to a local directory. This is where the AI agent will execute tasks.
Create and Execute Tasks
Add tasks to your Kanban board, write detailed descriptions, and click "Start with Plan" to let the AI agent create an execution plan and get to work.
3Configuration
Claude API Key
To use AI agent execution, you'll need to configure your Claude API key. You can obtain one from Anthropic Console.
The API key is stored securely on your local machine and is never sent to our servers.
4Frequently Asked Questions
Is Sugar Banana free?
Yes, Sugar Banana is free to download and use. You only pay for the AI API usage (Claude) based on your consumption.
What AI agents are supported?
Currently, Sugar Banana supports Claude by Anthropic. Support for additional AI agents is on our roadmap.
Is my data secure?
Yes. AI agent execution happens locally on your machine. Your files are only sent to the AI API when you explicitly run a task. Task metadata is synced via our cloud service for collaboration, but your local files stay on your machine.
Can I use Sugar Banana offline?
Task management works offline with local caching. However, AI agent execution and real-time collaboration require an internet connection.
